So I was just watching All Together Now on SHO and started to think about why I prefer older music. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a lot of new music but, nothing compares to sitting down and listening to Led Zepplin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc. I believe the biggest reason is the stories that the music tells. To me that is what makes a song. Modern music still tells a story its just the stories seem so weak when comparing them to old songs. They are all songs that are easy to relate to in our day to day lives but, it doesn't get deep enough. Older music and I feel especially The Beatles tell stories that you can feel deep down in side. It has the ability to change you as a person and make you feel like a good person. Now I get to go have my first day at Pow Mow take it easy ladies and gents.
P.s. Next time you put on a song try and listen to the story. We are making it way to easy on the artists these days.

Alright its a little late and technically tuesday but here is your RUFF MUSIC MONDAY entry for the week.

Last week i introduced the maker of the RUFF DRAFT...J Dilla. Well Dilla may have died in 2006 but his production is still alive and well within the Hip Hop community and Raekwon aka "The Chef", a key member of one of the RUFFEST groups ever, the WU TANG CLAN, recently released his new CD Only Built For Cuban Linx II and several tracks off of it happen to be Dilla beats. The video below is one such track featuring a Dilla beat...watch the video and lets just say this is one RUFF music video. My favorite part is the bum eating the cat at 1:35. Now if thats not getting RUFF in the streets i don't know what is.

Today I'm gonna be dropping some hip hop knowledge on your asses. J Dilla aka Jay Dee was a hip hop producer straight out a Detroit. He isn't very well known by the casual hip hop fan but anyone who truly loves hip hop will know Dilla. He's mostly a producer meaning he made those fat beats you bump. He's worked with Wu-Tang Clan members, Busta Rhymes, Common, Slum Village, and many other hip hop artists. Unfortunutly Dilla died in 2006 from a blood disease so we don't get the joy of him pumping out more music. One of Dilla's best known albums is RUFF DRAFT. I'm posting a song called Wild off the album. If you can go check it out cause its a well put together album and its RUFF.

Yo what up...Partner Young Crow here. Just getting real RUFF. I've decided i'm going to be the guy to update the world on the RUFFEST music out there.
