The Beatles
So I was just watching All Together Now on SHO and started to think about why I prefer older music. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a lot of new music but, nothing compares to sitting down and listening to Led Zepplin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc. I believe the biggest reason is the stories that the music tells. To me that is what makes a song. Modern music still tells a story its just the stories seem so weak when comparing them to old songs. They are all songs that are easy to relate to in our day to day lives but, it doesn't get deep enough. Older music and I feel especially The Beatles tell stories that you can feel deep down in side. It has the ability to change you as a person and make you feel like a good person. Now I get to go have my first day at Pow Mow take it easy ladies and gents.
P.s. Next time you put on a song try and listen to the story. We are making it way to easy on the artists these days.
Lil Wayne- I'm a Millionaire,
I'm a Young Money Millionaire, tougher than Nigerian hair,
My criteria compared to your career just isnt fair,
I'm a venereal disease like a menstrual bleed...
Pink Floyd-You reached for the secret too soon,
You cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night,
And exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome
With random precision,
Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
You agree?

One more.
Here is my dads favorite Rolling Stones song. He always tells me about how music isn't the same anymore and I try to argue but, its true. We will probably never see a stadium this huge filled with people ever again... unless your going to the Jonas Brothers or Taylor Swift.
